Incidence of Infertility is on the rise, latest studies show that 10% of the entire population is suffering

infertility can be attributed to both male and female partner,however in the last decade or so abnormal

smoking,excessive alcohol consumption, obesity, Stress,late marriages and abnormal working hours have
all led to a dramatic increase in the incidence of Infertility”.

Bengaluru, August 27, 2015: Intel India today unveiled the Intel India Maker Lab and the Intel India Maker Showcase in its Bengaluru campus, furthering its commitment to help realize Government of India’s Digital India and Make in India vision by accelerating innovation in India. Intel India Maker Lab will focus on hardware design by boosting product innovation and enhance maker capability for startups in India. Intel India Maker Showcase will let visitors and participants see, feel and experience the products and solutions from the Intel India Maker Lab along with other innovations from Intel.
The Intel India Maker Lab will be open to aspiring and existing entrepreneurs who are pursuing new hardware products and solutions in Internet of Things, Mobile Devices as well as other compute domains. They will be provided with development kits, reference boards, hardware and software tools to develop and test their ideas and bring their products and solutions to life, as well as mentoring and business support. The Intel India Maker Lab plans to support ten startup companies initially. The selection process for startups would be completed in October 2015 and the Maker Lab engagements are planned to start subsequently. The Intel India Maker Lab and Intel India Maker Showcase initiative supports the Intel and Department of Science and Technology (DST)’s `Innovate For Digital India’ Challenge that drew over 1900 entries from across India. Recently, 20 teams were shortlisted in the Innovate for Digital India Challenge. The shortlisted teams will be eligible to use the Intel India Maker Lab without having to go through a further selection process.
Intel India Maker Lab plans to collaborate with incubators and accelerators of academic institutions, industry associations, as well as other corporate entities to offer the benefits of Intel India Maker Lab to hardware startups they are supporting.
Speaking at the opening of the Intel India Maker Lab, Kumud Srinivasan, President, Intel India, said, “Intel India is committed to accelerating Digital India and Design in India by invigorating innovation across the eco-system. The hackathon was organised for the brightest of minds comprising of IoT start-ups, Professionals & Developers and Students. A panel discussion on ‘Creating future ready businesses with IoT’ witnessed the likes of Ravi Gururaj – Chairman & Co-Founder of Frictionless Ventures; Dr. Srikanth Sundararajan – Venture Partner, Helion Venture Partners; Derick Jose – Co-founder & Chief Product Officer, Flutura Decision Sciences & Analytics and V V Rajasekhar – Senior Vice President, ITC Infotech and Chief Information Officer, ITC Limited.
The hackathon provided participants with an opportunity to develop ideas into prototypes across a wide range of business challenges in the categories of smart retail, smart manufacturing, smart supply chain, smart agriculture. It also included an open category which permitted entries that were assessed on the strength of the business case presented and the viability for adoption and implementation.
A total of 36 teams participated, which were sifted from over 700 entries received. The teams presented their solutions to business users and validated their ideas through live simulations of real business scenarios. The solutions were judged on whether it addresses a real business problem, if it is differentiated from alternatives in the market and if the solution was demonstrated successfully.
The winners, Team Aditya Bhola, Manoharan Ramasamy, Ravi Sharma and Hansraj were awarded Rs. 2, 00,000 for their project in the Smart Agriculture category for their innovative solution on smart irrigation. The market problem targeted by the team was water conservation with optimal crop irrigation and enhancement of crop productivity. The solution touches upon all facets of a typical IoT project namely sensors, edge intelligence and cloud computing that also empowers farmers with best practices and historical results.
Two teams made it to the runners-up; Team Senthilkumar M, Balaji Babu TR and Anuj Duggal who built an IoT based farming land monitoring solution and Team Nitika Rajput and Tanmay Baranwal built a smart security monitoring system for agricultural use. Both teams were also part of the smart agriculture category and were awarded Rs. 1, 00,000 each for their individual projects.

The competition categories include:
Smart Retail: Retail is about continuously enhancing customer shopping experience. It is also about ensuring availability & visibility of stocks, specifically in Consumer Goods. Entries in this category can focus on anything from stock keeping and inventory management to in-store customer experience. Selected teams will be provided with actual retail display shelves, using which their solutions can be demonstrated to solve this real-world challenge.
Smart Manufacturing: Entrants should create a solution to constantly monitor and predict in real-time the health of machines and equipment to enable proactive servicing and avoid disruption of manufacturing units. Entries and solution ideas can also be shared on creating smart manufacturing units and assembly lines, which can utilise analytics to optimise the production process – a step towards realising the ‘Make in India’ drive.
Smart Supply Chains: Entries should have ideas on how IoT solutions can help create a smarter supply chain – warehouse, inventory management, transportation, planning and tracking, demand-planning, etc.
Smart Agriculture: Entries should have IoT solutions that provide feedback/recommend corrective action from remote farms to research laboratories for agriculture.
