Use of Digital Technology

CureSkin applies deep learning-based image recognition to automatically detect conditions from photos. This technology is built over a repository of over several millions of photos and analyses pixel-level and pore-level attributes. About the Founder:
Guna Kakulapati is the co-founder & CEO of CureSkin. The CureSkin app came out of a personal need when his son was diagnosed with a serious skin condition. In that journey, it quickly became clear that the model of a single point-in-time consultation doesn’t work for skin, and that continuous care & supervision was required to keep it healthy.
Guna is a technologist who graduated from IIT-Chennai with a B-Tech Computer Science and did his Masters in University of Illinois, Urbana Champaign. He worked in the US for over 11 years in top tech companies (Google, Amazon). He holds 14 patents for several technology innovations, he was part of the team that launched Amazon AWS and its several key technology components.
Ramakrishna R is the co-founder & CTO of CureSkin. He pioneered the use of Artificial Intelligence to identify and monitor outcomes for various skin conditions through photos taken on mobile phones. At CureSkin, he specialises in the use of deep learning-based Computer Vision. In collaboration with dermatologists, CureSkin uses technology also to develop evidence-based personalised treatments.
Ramakrishna graduated with a B-Tech in Computer Science and attended Stanford for further specialization. He has worked in Google (both US and India) for over 10 years in several deep-technology teams and in leadership roles. He was instrumental in several core projects such Google Search, Maps, and applications of AI in spam detection, Youtube etc.
Dr. Charu Sharma, Co-founder & Head of Dermatology at Cureskin leads the medical team. She is a renowned dermatologist with over 19 years of experience in treating different skin and hair-fall cases. She was previously heading aesthetic dermatology in VLCC, and also had experience in launching their private line of skin-care products. IKEA (part of the Ingka Group), the world’s leading Swedish home furnishings retailer will open the doors to its largest store in India so far, in Nagasandra, Bengaluru at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 22, 2022. The Nagasandra Store is IKEA’s fourth store in India and the e-commerce and app services in June 2021. The store is located next to the Nagasandra metro station, which will support a faster, more sustainable and comfortable commute, making the store accessible for the many people of Bengaluru. The IKEA Nagasandra store will be an iconic landmark in the city, providing home furnishing solutions catering to the diverse needs of the family. With a planned investment of INR 3000 crores in Karnataka, IKEA is expecting to attract close to 5 million visitors this year in Bengaluru.
Spread over 12.2 acres, the 460,000 sq. ft IKEA Nagasandra store will feature more than 7000 well-designed, affordable, good quality, functional, and sustainable home furnishing products along with beautifully designed 65+ room sets for ideas and inspirations to live a better life at home. The store will also house one of the largest children’s play areas, ‘Småland’ along with a 1,000-seater restaurant and a bistro serving a mix of Swedish and Indian delicacies with many vegetarian and vegan food options to choose from.

One of them is an IKEA social entrepreneur, Industree based out of Karnataka who is working with close to 1000 local artisans – making sofas, upholstery, armchairs, furniture, plastic, and metal articles, such as EKTORP sofas and NODELAND bookcase.
IKEA continues to develop and strengthen its omnichannel presence in the city with e-commerce, and physical stores. The brand plans to launch its first city-centre store in Bengaluru next year.

Sevilla FC concludes a five-day visit to Bengaluru, India to explore opportunities and meet existing and potential partners as part of it’s growth strategy
A Sevilla FC delegation, led by Club President José Castro and General Director, José María Cruz and Business General Director, Jorge Paradela, recently visited Bengaluru, India to consolidate it’s brand presence in the country. The move from Andalusian football club follows a massive growth program by LaLiga called ‘LaLiga Boost’ which was initiated after the strategic agreement with CVC involving 1.9B euros being invested into Europe’s top football league. With Sevilla FC’s Internationalization Strategy and the potential FC Bengaluru United, the talent and the country has for becoming a football superpower in Asia, the visiting delegation participated in various activities including meetings with heads of Indian and international companies through the five-day visit, and ended it with participation in a special Extra Time event by LaLiga India today. The event, in collaboration with the Indo Spanish Chamber of Commerce and Embassy of Spain, was also attended by Ms. Surbhi Sharma, Honorary Consul of Spain in Bangalore and Mr. Gaurav Manchanda, Owner, FC Bengaluru United.
Through LaLiga Boost, the Spanish league is supporting all its 42 clubs with cash injections dedicated to promoting global growth through stadia and infrastructure development, technological advancement and brand internationalization. Sevilla FC has been a key part of this strategy and with it’s technical, business and technological expertise, has decided to invest in India for partnerships beyond just traditional methods. The visit to India and footing established here in this time has allowed the club to understand more about the Indian football and sports culture, while imparting this expertise to business and administrative experts in the country to make a positive impact at the grassroots level.
During the visit, Sevilla FC participated in several different activities to increase engagement with top football and business administrators from India, starting with launching the FC Bengaluru United’s women’s team, which was a step forward by the Indian club based on Sevilla FC’s experience in the arena. Following this, the LaLiga side visited one of India’s foremost technology companies, Infosys pertaining to Sevilla FC’s focus on technological innovations, research and development and usage of data. The ‘Football Hackathon – Data Driven Players Performance Assessment’ which is a joint initiative by Sevilla FC and FC Bengaluru United was also launched on 10th June 2022 in Bengaluru. The final part of their visit, on 11th June 2022, will see a development tournament called the ‘Sevilla FC Junior Cup’ take place at HAL Grounds. Aside from these activities, the Spanish delegation got the opportunity explore the Indian and Bangalorean culture by visiting historic and cultural spots across the city.
